Therapeutic Approaches

No single approach works for everyone. Therapy isn't about fitting you into a model — it's about finding the tools and conversations that best support your growth, healing, and goals. I draw from a variety of evidence-based approaches and tailor therapy to the needs of each client.

ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy)

ACT focuses on building psychological flexibility. Rather than fighting difficult thoughts and emotions, it helps you learn how to make space for them while moving toward the life you want to create.

CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy)

CBT helps identify patterns of thinking that may be contributing to anxiety, stress, or emotional distress. Together, we explore how thoughts, emotions, and behaviours interact and develop strategies that support meaningful change.

DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy)

DBT teaches practical skills for managing intense emotions, coping with stress, improving relationships, and responding to challenges more effectively.

EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy)

EFT helps individuals and couples better understand their emotions and the underlying needs driving them. By strengthening emotional awareness and connection, it can help create healthier relationships with yourself and others.

IFS (Internal Family Systems)

IFS explores the different "parts" of ourselves that show up in everyday life. Some parts protect us, some carry pain, and some help us move forward. This approach encourages self-understanding, self-compassion, and healing.

Gottman Method

The Gottman Method is an evidence-based approach to couples therapy that focuses on improving communication, managing conflict, deepening friendship, and strengthening emotional connection.

MBCT (Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy)

MBCT combines mindfulness practices with cognitive therapy techniques. It helps develop awareness of thoughts and emotions while reducing the tendency to become overwhelmed by them.

Trauma-Focused Therapy

Trauma isn't always linked to a single event. Sometimes it develops through ongoing experiences that leave us feeling unsafe, overwhelmed, disconnected, or constantly on alert. Trauma-focused therapy helps explore how past experiences may continue to influence emotions, relationships, self-esteem, and coping patterns today. Together, we'll work to better understand these experiences, build a greater sense of safety, and develop tools that support healing and resilience at a pace that feels right for you.
